Eclipse CDT detecting only one particular filename of static library when linking

I have this absolutely frustrating problem. When I try to link some libraries to eclipse CDT, it always says "cannot find xxx". But when I rename it to "libodbc32.lib" and link it like "-lodbc32", it works fine. I don't know why eclipse chose to prefer this filename other than this is the first library I link with it before. How can I fix this frustraing issue?
